Please read before proceeding to register:

Materials eligible for this Takeback Program are per-and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS)-containing aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) and related PFAS-containing materials (such as PFAS-containing AFFF rinsates).

Materials that would be classified as hazardous wastes or universal wastes at the time of their disposal/treatment under State of Ohio and Federal Hazardous Waste regulations (https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-40/chapter-I/subchapter-I/part-261, https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-administrative-code/rule-3745-51-03, https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-40/chapter-I/subchapter-I/part-273, https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-administrative-code/rule-3745-50-10) are ineligible for this program.

Materials which contain substances regulated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (40 CFR Parts 700 through 799), including but not limited to polychlorinated biphenyls [PCBs], Asbestos, etc) are ineligible for this program.

Finally, no radiologically-impacted materials will be accepted.

If registering a large volume (over 1,000 gallons) of PFAS-containing material (e.g., rinsate from the cleanout of an AFFF system), Please contact us at the phone number listed to arrange for separate collection.  Any AFFF rinsates to be collected will need to be characterized by you – e.g., water only with PFAS residuals versus special rinse agents; include any analytical data and/or safety data sheets, if available. If material has not or cannot be been characterized by you.  We will schedule to physically collect a sample of the material and perform chemical analyses for hazardous waste characterization and PFAS concentration measurement (to determine the material’s eligibility for the program).

Unknown or unlabeled materials will not be accepted until such time as they are have been characterized and determined to be eligible for this program.  If you have unknown or unlabeled materials, please enter them into this registration system and mark them as unknown or unlabelled using the appropriate prompt and we will schedule a time to collect a sample of the material to determine if it is eligible for this program.
